“All scripture is given by the inspiration of God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults and giving instruction for living” 2 Tim 3:16
Paul said when we keep on beholding the glory of God we are changed into His image. What you behold; you become. Beloved may we develop a habit of reading the word of God so that we may find direction, correction & instruction for living from it. If you ask but why? The following verse says so that a man of God can be perfect wanting nothing! Regards, Lindi. “In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by the books…” Dan 9:2
There is a saying that a person who does not read is not different from the person who cannot read. Beloved if we want to succeed we need to learn from those who have gone before us and have made it. If you are a believer you need to read Christian books, if in management position, married, single, a mother or a father; we need to read books that talk to our current state. Jesus said if you continue in my word then you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free. Knowledge; especially of the word of God will set us free. Regards, Lindi. “But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues therein…this man shall be blessed in his deeds” James 1: 25
James says if we look into the law of liberty which is the word of God and continue reading it and applying it in everyday situations we shall be blessed in everything we do. Beloved the word of God is able to cleanse us, liberate us and bring a blessing upon our lives. Lord, in the morning we will seek your face and in the evening we will lay awake in your presence! Regards, Lindi. “You hear my voice in the morning; at sunrise I offer my prayer and wait for your answer.” Ps 5:3
We are learning two things from this verse; firstly, we need to pray in the morning when our minds are still fresh and secondly, wait to hear from God. When you are with the most important person you would prefer that person to talk more than you, the same goes when we fellowship with God we must hear from Him. Beloved we need to develop the ability to hear from God. Regards, Lindi. “And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day..” Gen 3:8
Beloved God rules in the affairs of men, He talks to His children but the question is can we hear Him when we talks? Jesus said my sheep know my voice and the voice of the stranger they will not follow. Oftentimes we are too busy or too loud to hear God’s voice. May we create a cool environment so that we can hear from Him! Regards, Lindi. Call to me and I will answer you; I will tell you wonderful and marvelous things that you know nothing about.” Jer 33:3
Isaiah says that they ways of God are not our ways and that God’s ways are higher than our ways. Beloved our relationship with God should be two way, we call and He will answer. Many of us have been praying and have lost hope because we do not hear from Him. Going forward may we pray and wait for a response because God does talk to his children. Do you want to hear wonderful and marvelous things today? Then don’t just call but wait for the response. “And Simon answered and said unto Him, Master we have toiled all night and have caught nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.” Luke 5:5
Simon Peter and his crew were experienced fisher men but that day the business was not doing well, they toiled all night and had nothing to show. Peter was almost giving up but said nevertheless at my Master’s command I will let down the net. Beloved maybe you are challenged health-wise, financially, in your marriage, at work, etc hearing from God will help us say irrespective of my challenges and because my Master commanded I will obey, believe and receive my breakthroughs. “as they pass through the dry valley of Baca, it becomes a place of springs; the autumn rain fills it with pools.” Ps 84:6
The valley of Baca is a valley of dry bones, meaning a place where there is no life or fulfillment however the verse says you will pass through that area and when you are there refreshment will come, Breakthroughs will come. You might be in the valley of dry bones this morning but beloved your moment of refreshment is coming… “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is His delight.” Prov 15:8
When we do something wrong we often do a lot of good things to compensate for our wrongdoing, the word of God tells us that if we are praying and have gifts to offer at the altar and whilst praying we remember that we have sin in our hearts or have offended other people, the bible says we should leave our gifts at the altar and go and make peace first then offer our gifts or continue to pray. God is pleased with a prayer of an upright man than receiving sacrifices from a wicked heart. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2
We often associate Christianity with poverty, wanting to be prosperous is not an ungodly thing in fact God wants us to prosper and be healthy physically and spiritually. Solomon said money answers all things the only problem is when we become greedy and when we allow money to drive us away from God. Christianity involves giving and you cannot give what you do not have! Have a fantastic weekend. Regards, Lindi. |
